We’re not in Kansas anymore
Today was our first Sunday NOT worshiping at Detroit First Church of the Nazarene. It was a little strange. For fourteen years we have driven the same route to church every Sunday. For six years, we have rushed to get out the door by 8:15 AM in order to be at church before guests start arriving. But today, I preached in someone else’s pulpit to someone else’s congregation asking for someone else’s money to start a church in the remote area of a town called Redford.
It was a gracious experience. The congregation was warm and welcoming. They were a smaller church, but eager to help another congregation. It was a blessing to watch their simple style of worship, but still sense the presence of God. And they blessed Plumb Line Community Church with a very generous love offering.
God is already working in our congregation in amazing ways. He is bringing people into our circle of influence for us to minister to. He is providing resources for us. And His Spirit is already moving in our midst. God is truly awesome and He will show Himself holy through Plumb Line Community Church.
