Little Baby Jesus
Sunday we celebrated our community launch with a time of fellowship and worship. God is good! We had 73 persons in attendance and you could sense the Lord’s presence. We are looking forward to celebrating a post-Christmas worship on Sunday, December 26th. Please join us if you can.
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Christmas is one of the most nostalgic times of the year. We love to sing songs about the little baby Jesus. And, if we were honest with ourselves, we prefer to keep Him as a baby all year long. Jesus is much more manageable as a baby. We can push Him around in a stroller and take Him wherever we go. We can leave Him with a babysitter if we want to go out. And we can give Him back to His Father when He gets unruly.
But Jesus did not stay a baby. He grew up to walk among us. He cared for the sick and lonely and broken. He healed the lame and made the blind to see. And He suffered for you and for me. Jesus did not stay a baby. He knew we needed someone to take care of us, so He grew up to be a Savior for all the world.
The wonder of creation is that you and I were made in the image and likeness of God. The wonder of Christmas is that God chose to be made in the image and likeness of us. Celebrate the wonder of Christmas!
Merry Christmas from Plumb Line Community Church!
